My experience with creating a blog or wiki is just like your experience with learning a new language.
There is a great desire, a great need and that goal will be achieved.
The first skill to learning a language is to listen, listen, listen.
The second skill, I believe, is to have a go - speak, speak, speak.
The third skill, is to read, read, read.
The fourth skill is to write, write, write.
Find a way to listen to a foreign language as if you are listening to music. Listen to the tones, the rythm, the inflections, the accents, the common words until parts of the language become so familiar that you can whistle and recognize the tune. Before you know it, you will be singing that chorus and then the verses.
Associate the new language words with pictures and sounds that spark a trigger in your memory.
For example, the word 'CANE' should trigger the word CANINE and link to a picture of a dog.
Even better, a picture of a dog with its canine teeth showing.
You can use this technique to create a mindmap on any topic of words - Pets?
